This is a non-technical introductory workshop and presentation about the foundations of the blockchain revolution in two parts.

In the first part, together we find common grounds of understanding and present the basic terminology used in the field of Bitcoin and blockchain discussions. We identify the far-reaching map of the subject, backed by public numbers and stats in order to guide participants to their personal and uniquely significant spot on the map of current events.

In the second part, we begin at the values and needs of the people involved in the inception and first use cases of blockchain technologies. We identify the main aspects of the various breakthroughs from a rarely discussed point of view pertaining to the connection between psychology and technology. We navigate the disrupted industries by examples and connect them to their source revolutionary accomplishments in computer science. With this information we attempt to extrapolate new insight into the possible future directions of the blockchain ideas as technological enablers of a new organization of society and the emergent Internet of Things.

By the end of the workshop, each attendee should be competent enough to explain what the blockchain revolution is in one sentence, as well as the reality of what is going on in the mainstream notions of Bitcoin mania.

This is a semi-technical introductory workshop and presentation about obtaining cryptocurrencies, trading and transacting on the blockchains, in two parts.

In the first part, participants learn about the big picture of the basic workings of the blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies and bitcoin. All the necessary technological components of computer science and digital value transactions are introduced. The various methods of obtaining bitcoin and the different types of wallets are discussed. The best practices are covered according to specifications of the founders and caretakers of the blockchain revolution.

In the second part, demonstrations include purchasing of Bitcoin through any of the ideal methods for the day and transferring value from a mobile device to a select recipient. At this point, participants may attempt to obtain their first cryptocurrency with a focus on security and anonymity. We compare live accounts on exchanges and observe a standard browser tab setup for laptop day trading. We consider the main smartphone apps for news gathering of sentiment, volatility and price. We look at basic spreadsheet documentation of trades and at the most common but necessary trading techniques based on technical analysis. Finally we discuss unique ideas for developing personal strategies as a novice investor or trader.

This is an introductory workshop and presentation about finding one’s way in the blockchain ecosystem, in two parts.

In the first part, we explore what it means to participate in the revolution: tuning in, gathering knowledge and experience, sharing wisdom. How various people interact within the space, including visionaries, developers, trolls, influencers and ordinary people. How to go to the source, including core teams and foundations. What do the top 50 cryptocurrencies represent and what are the rest? This exploration adds an approach for basic fundamental analysis of a company to the previous work with technical analysis in level 2. Included are best practices for entering the conversation with various social media platforms.

In the second part we use our information gathering skills to encounter the latest blockchain innovations. We collaborate on how to use the most relevant tools in relation to personal needs. As an example we explore the instantaneous ability to place digital audio-visual assets on the blockchain and what this means as a new business paradigm for artists.

This is a self-motivated approach to the collaborative technological deployment of basic IoT solutions, in two parts.

In the first part, we venture into exploring any major news and ideas for the future of IoT, as represented in actually available projects done by others online. We discuss core concepts and define the space we have. We share our experiences and available tools, come up with a common direction for the workshop and do what we can to begin a project or continue where we left off. We set up live video streaming of the workshop from the start in order to include a participatory global network. Anyone can tune in and add value by providing positive or negative feedback, starting at the idea stage.

The second part is all about creating and documenting the work live. We may invite a local specialist to tell us of a pressing challenge or we may choose a popular problem and create an immediate plan to try and present a rough IoT solution on the blockchain. The aim is to prototype and to understand by experience what the work might entail when collaborating on major long-term projects in team settings which enable major disruptive global solutions. We observe how new social technology, both in real and virtual environments connected, enables the possibility of a new organization of society, as long as people choose to educate themselves on psychology and technology. We strive to understand new possible relations between humanity and technology.
