Despite a full effort from The Sky is High to have all of its business operations and finances open to the public in order to eliminate all possibility of accusations of fraud, Coinbase has dropped support as a payment gateway and so we have lost our sole Bitcoin transaction services. This is a severe hit to our operations as a startup. We have been working to have Bitcoin available as a pillar element in our open-source community niche since September 2016.
The Sky is High has not even officially launched and no transactions have yet been made through our Site or Services. Thus, it has not yet been possible for us to have committed any fraudulent activity. At the sole discretion of Coinbase, since our crowdfunding venue does not provide any of the listed suspicious activities, The Sky is High must fall under one of the last two categories of Prohibited Businesses which are deemed “unfair” or “high risk” in the User Agreement:
For any other New Energy Technologies business, the mentioned last two categories are repeated here for clarity:
Unfair, predatory or deceptive practices: Investment opportunities or other services that promise high rewards; Sale or resale of a service without added benefit to the buyer; resale of government offerings without authorization or added value; sites that we determine in our sole discretion to be unfair, deceptive, or predatory towards consumers.
High risk businesses: any businesses that we believe poses elevated financial risk, legal liability, or violates card network or bank policies.
At this time all we can hope for is a reassessment from the Coinbase compliance department. We are also seeking the availability of another payment gateway for processing Bitcoin transactions. We currently do not have the means to conduct the re-coding. We would need a volunteer API programmer for a new payment gateway to incorporate functions into our wordpress plugin code.
Our finances are published on the [ Commerce ] page. Any help in this direction is much appreciated.
Since the first beta launch of the platform, the value of Bitcoin has risen over 40%, yet various countries still do not identify digital currency as legal.
